About the Clinic
This clinic is for beginners that want to run a 5km a the end of 12 weeks.
Our program starts out as a walk/run and progresses towards running a 5km.
This clinic offers 2 workouts per week plus one homework run
What is provided:
- Training schedule is provided for the 11 week program
- 2 in person sessions per week
- demo shoe nights
- a Brooks Podium Shirt
- Monday April 24th, 2023 – Introduction and first workout from Forerunners Main St.
When does the clinic meet and where:
- Monday’s at 6:30 pm at Memorial Track
- Thursday’s at 6:30 at Forerunners Main Street
What Can I Do To Prepare?
All you need to do is show up and be ready to have some fun, enjoy your run, and maybe meet a friend or two.
What Should I Expect?
You should expect a welcoming and fun atmosphere as we journey to a new you.
Meet the Instructor
Kevin O’Connor – Forerunners Main Street Ambassador
Kevin O’Connor: a lifetime runner with elite standing in cross country, road, and track over distances of 5km, 10km, 1/2 and full marathons holding several Canada and BC age group records. Kevin trained as an elite athlete with VFAC for many years before taking on a coaching role with the club in 2020. Kevin is a certified “NCCP Level II club coached trained” and began his coaching career in 2012, training small groups of athletes and individuals while continuing his own high level athletic training and working full time in a demanding industry. Kevin has a great reputation in Canada and the local running community as well as many connections in the UK where he grew up and began his racing career at the young age of 11. Kevin’s training philosophy is “train hard but smart and recover well“.
