About the Clinic
Please note: this group does not meet in store, it meets at at Memorial Track (5955 Ross Street in Vancouver).
You have decided it is time to become one of those people who are out there running around our beautiful city. Or, maybe you have already been doing a bit of running and have decided it is time to try a 5K race. Welcome to an exciting new phase of your life!
Our GOAL is to help you achieve whatever challenge you may have set out for yourself. Most runners find that it is hard to achieve good results without setting out some kind of goal. It could be to move up in distance, or improve time, or any of a number of other things. We suggest that you take a few minutes right now to think about just what YOU hope to achieve by joining us in this training program. Remember a goal is a goal, no matter how lofty or modest. If you have never run 5K then just doing it is a very real and major goal.
Train with us to run a complete 5k.
Entry to clinic includes:
- 2 sessions per week at Memorial Track (5955 Ross Street in Vancouver)–Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, Saturdays at 7:30 am–for 12 weeks
- “Your Run Starts Here” training manual
What Can I Do To Prepare?
All you need to do is show up and be ready to have some fun, enjoy your run, and maybe meet a friend or two.
What Should I Expect?
You should expect a welcoming and fun atmosphere as we journey to a new you.
Meet the Instructor
Charles has been a friend of Forerunners for years. He first got into running when his Grade 6 teacher introduced him to the sport. In 1981, Charles was introduced to the Terry Fox Run and didn't enjoy it....or so he thought. He tried a few more runs and discovered his love for the sport. By 1987, he had run hundreds of 10k and 5k races, he even ran his first marathon that year. Since then Charles has run countless races from 5k to marathon up and down the West coast and across Western Canada. He even ran the New York City Marathon in November 2018!
