Join us on Tuesday, March 30th at 6:30 PM for a sports nutrition presentation by Registered Dietician, Kara Marshall. Kara will discuss the trend towards high fat, low carb diets and the current recommendations for hydration and nutrition during your runs, and will follow this with a food demonstration for your everyday training nutrition.

You can drop into this Zoom presentation for $5. The expected duration will be approximately 45 minutes and Kara will be sticking around afterwards to answer any questions you may have.

About Kara:

Kara is a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Health with honours from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Science in Applied Nutrition from Northeastern University. She also has completed the International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Nutrition.

Kara has over 8 years of experiencing working as both a clinical dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator in Vancouver. She is also the consulting sports dietitian for Simon Fraser University Athletics. She provides evidence-based nutrition counselling for a wide variety of clients and is motivated to help you create a personalized nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle. Areas of focus include diabetes management, performance nutrition, heart healthy eating, vegan/vegetarian eating, and weight management.

Kara has professional affiliations with Dietitians of Canada (Sport Nutrition Network), the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association, and Professionals in Nutrition and Exercise Science.

Outside of work Kara enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing, cooking and photography.
